Asus vivobook f1404 wifi driver

I installed, Zorin 18, clean install, not Dual Boot. I had no expectation that it would disable or delete the ASUS Wifi driver. I went to the ASUS support to look for the driver, I did not find any Linux drivers... Curious. I do not have WIFI access now.

Questions:
Where can I find the ASUS or equivalent Driver?
Can I down load a driver on a thumb drive and install it using Zorin ?
Any other tips?

Thank you for the support!

What is your terminal output for

sudo lshw -C network

I suspect you have MediaTek...

Are you able to connect to the internet tethering your phone as a hotspot or other means (For downloading and installing Wifi Driver)?

Welcome to the Forum!

Beside @Aravisian's Questions: Are Secure Boot and Fast Boot in BIOS disabled? If You have an Ethernet Port: Does that work?

Yes, I have Mediatek
Physical id: 0
bus info: pci@0000:02:00.0
version: 00
width: 64 bits
clock: 33MHz
capabilies: pciexpress msi pm bus_master cap_list
configuration: latency=0

I have a WiFi dongle connected to a USB port, it seems to be working fine. I don't have Bluetooth at the moment, a solution that is necessary too.

I hope I provided you with the information you requested,

Thanks,
Looking forward to your response.

Your output shows that there is no driver module loaded at all... at least.

What about

lspci -nnk | grep -A3 -i network

In order to know which driver... we need to know which chipset.

that terminal command shows....
0000:02:00.0 Network controller [0280}: MEDIATEK Corp. Device [14c3:7902]
DeviceName: WLAN
Subsystem: AzureWave Device [1a3b:5528]
10000:e0:06.0 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation 12th Gen Core Processor PCI Express x4 Controller #0 [8086:464d] (rev 04)

Again I hope this is what you requested,

Thanks for the help,

That is the needed information. The 7902 card... is notorious.
It is a Windows Only card (per the manufacturer).

This means you cannot have Secure Boot enabled in your EFI settings as it will block any driver you install for your NIC

Here is a link to a guide on installing experimental drivers:

Be aware that you may see instability in BlueTooth or using 5GHz.
What most users do to resolve this is use an inexpensive WiFi dongle or replace the NIC.

Thank you for all the help. I may just get a WiFi/Bluetooth Dongle, which I have already ordered. I just can't get away from Mircosoft. I have lost a lot of regard for ASUS. But with the Dongle I will be divorced from Bill and his minions.

Thanks again,
