Best Video Converter for Zorin

Anyone have any suggestions for the best Video Converter for Zorin?

Many Thanks in Advance

I have been using HandBrake in both Windows and Linux and quite happy with it:

Thank You French Press, but to install I just open a terminal?

And which one do I install?

Thanks in advance....

The easiest way to install it is search for HandBrake in Software.

The top one is Flatpak and the second one is Snap installer.

But if you are like me and others on this forum, installing from the terminal is a preferable method. Because of the sandboxing nature of Snap and Flatpak, you may encounter a problem such as inability to access external disks or mounted volumes. It is a deal breaker for me, since I keep all multimedia files in an external large capacity SSD.

To install HandBrake properly, open terminal (ctrl + alt + T)

  1. Add repository for HandBrake:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:stebbins/handbrake-releases
  1. Update package list in your system:
sudo apt update
  1. Install HandBrake and possible dependencies:
sudo apt install --install-recommends handbrake-gtk

Dunno why this happened....

as you said, i also wanted to try HandBrake , but,.....

original video is of 85MB but after compressing it by HandBrake,
i got a file of 136MB :disappointed:
is there any setting to make it correct ?

I just run the whole command on my fresh install of Zorin 16.
Everything went fine as it should.

Did you run

sudo apt update

before the installation command?

I think you are replying to my comment for @Stanko1 .
I was giving her/him the advice for how to install it in a proper PPA method.

For you, my advice is to refer the tutorial for video compression in HandBrake.

Yes.

Same thing happened again too...

Are you using Zorin 15 or 16?

I will ask @Aravisian for help.
Hopefully he see this flag. He is way more knowledgable than myself for such software issues.

To install handbrake-gtk:
try:

sudo apt install --install-recommends handbrake

Handbrake is probably the well-known video transcoder you can rely on.
