Warning: Latest kernel update for 24.04 (7.0.0-30-generic) does not work with AMD GPUs. If you have a Radeon card stay with 7.0.0-28.

Which kernels have you tried?

I've v31 and v30 installed

Are you saying I need to go back to v7.0.0.28 if so how can I do that

You can install the ...-28 kernel directly, or use the Mainline Installer GUI application:

To install it directly:

sudo apt install linux-headers-7.0.0.28-generic linux-image-7.0.0.28-generic linux-modules-7.0.0.28-generic

S I can install from a txt screen using terminal correct ie. Ctrl+Alt+F2 ?

I would recommend ctl+alt+t, instead, so that the full terminal is visible.
You can copy and paste the command using Right Click - bear in mind that the Terminal's rely on Unix coding, so ctl+c to copy and ctl+v to paste will not work (right click does).
The workaround is to paste with ctl+shift+v and ctl+shift+c to copy when in Terminal Emulators.

I apologize if I seem naive i came from a windows environment, a retired IT person (31 yrs in IT) and not too familiar with Linux dabbled in it 20 years ago
I can't get into my system with graphical interface what is the best way to login and run Terminal in txt mode

If you cannot reach the graphical desktop, you can TTY in, using ctl+alt+F5. You can exit TTY with ctl+alt+F7 and you will want to memorize that ctl+alt+F7 to have in your brain for all those times you get into TTY, then struggle to get out of that roach motel.

Hello,
I don't want to interfere but it's look like it could be this problem

By all means, interfere. I had forgotten about that bug - and that is the right thing to bring up.

This is because my post is pinned but not really, it is not at the top of the forum list

Pins last for a set period of time - you can DM me the link and I can re-pin that puppy.
