Books on Linux

Hi. A few weeks ago, someone recommended a book to buy plus a whole host of books available in one batch on the Internet. I thought I'd ordered the first, but nothing has arrived, so maybe I didn't. Could the person who recommended these give me the info again, please? I've not yet found a method for searching my own posts threads yet, or I could have done it myself

You can find books and courses, plus the latest Linux news here:

I think that was me on this thread:

But these books are in digital format when bought from this site, in either .pdf or .epub format, or both. You should've gotten an email with a download link, or in your account if you created one with them.

Note that these are offers with a time limit, and this one in particular seems to be expiring soon. Don't worry too much about this as they come up with new stuff quite often anyway.

Yes, it was. You also recommended a hard copy book that I thought I'd ordered

Check the thread, I'm not sure I specifically recommended a hard copy as I this site's bundles are only in digital form. But in any case, that's something you should check with whichever store you ordered from.

Oh, by the way I just realized you talked about searching the forum:

You can search your own posts in two ways:

  1. Visiting your profile and then click on "more replies", on the left column of the stats.

  2. Use the search bar by clicking on the magnifying glass, and type your name preceded with an @ symbol. For example, this shows all the posts where you mention the word books, with some deviance that helps finding results in a "fuzzy" way, so the more precise you are with the terms, the better:

Now that's very useful! I'll try it out And bookmarks

But first I need to find out what I ordered and where from - nothing shows up in an emali search. (If my spelling is even worse than normal, i can't see what I'm typing, having had my eyes dilated for a macular screen

When I used to attend the Local Linux User Group meetings, the recommendation was for this - proceeds go to charity:
