I am moving away from Windows and decided to dive into Zorin.
I am usually working with external monitors and laptop closed.
I can't seem to find the options to tell the laptop what to do when closing the lid.
Can you tell me where are those?
I only found some people suggesting some file configs and terminal commands so I decided to ask first since this is trivial and I thought it should be in some settings section.
Thanks!
Thanks for the fast response mate!
In one of the links someone showed also a setting in Gnome Tweaks app which looked handy though I don't see such when I install that tool. Do you know what could be the reason or you don't recommend using that tool?
You can use it, it is a good tool. On Zorin 17 I have this setting to suspend when laptop lid is closed in gnome tweaks. It is the first point at tab general.
Are you on Zorin 18? Maybe it doesn't exist there, I'll take a look later. Many functions are gradually being phased out in Gnome, which is really annoying. In the ubunuhandbook link is even said that dconf-editor didn't work, but I have not tried it with my Zorin 18 live boot stick.
Edit: In Zorin 18 this function has been removed from gnome-tweaks😕. I also didn't get dconf-editor to respect my settings on my Zorin 18 live boot stick. It always put the laptop into suspend independent of the action I set for lidclose. So probably on Zorin 18 you have to edit the logind.conf.
Thanks for helping me out and taking the time to check Zorin 18 which is what I have!
That's so strange and annoying direction where this is going. It's a standard setting which many users would need to quickly set without digging for commands.
