Error on Software Updates. Never seen before

Reading package lists... Done
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/apt/lists/lock. It is held by process 61459 (packagekitd)
N: Be aware that removing the lock file is not a solution and may break your system.
E: Unable to lock directory /var/lib/apt/lists/

Unable to get a lock /var/lib/apt/lists/lock. It is held by process almost always means that another Software Manager is holding the package lock.
Synaptic or Software Store or a terminal...
Check if any were left open.

Remember, when installing a package that installs to Root - the system must Lock in order to prevent cross-file corruption and for security.

Unfortunately I do this quite often when searching for an app to install mostly with Synaptic and the terminal .... as I will minimize one of them and open the other .....
