Firewall settings unresponsive

I see :slightly_frowning_face: Well, I have the brandnew python3.10 in there, which is...awesome :weary:

@Aravisian if you see any possibility to not having to reinstall the entire system ... I'd be the happiest Zorin User on earth :weary: I've put hundreds of hours into my server :sob: it's my 4th baby :sob:

Compared with mine, you have 3 more Python directories.

Python 3.9
Python 3.10
Python

Well if you're referring to my screenshot that was from another path. It was /usr/lib/pythonX.X.

/etc/python contains python3, python2.7, python3.8 and, luckily python3.10

I will check mine.
Everything is kept default in this desktop, my main production system.

(I only experiment with my sub-desktop which I usually do not use.)

Still you have those in addition to the default installation:

Python3.10
Python

You built them from source, too.:expressionless:

Elevate file manager to root and remove the python 3.9 and 3.10 from /usr/local/bin/

Reboot

Then run

which python3.10

which python3.9

I see I wish I would have not fumbled around with this haha.

Yeah exactly

I will try

Brb!

@Aravisian you mean remove any file containing something with 3.9/3.10?

Surrrely don't wanna mess up again :see_no_evil:

I have been doing a system integration since 1990's.
It was my ex who first showed me how to do it.

Every time I do a system upgrade, I also assemble a sub-machine from the retired parts. That way I do not have to risk my production system when I got this itch for experimentation :woman_scientist:

Hell yeah! That's some smart way of thinking haha! Very nice! :relaxed:

It could. I strongly recommend backing up, first.:expressionless:
Anything pip or python 3.10...
Looking at your actual files... You might want to remove all python and pip files, then immediately run

sudo apt install --reinstall python3 pip

right after... and...

Godspeed, soldier.

Thank you so much for all of your help for a simple (Linux) man :sob:  Did you told me to, commander (Get it? cmd'er?). Will reboot now

Glad to here that
Apart from my sub-machine, I have also other toys to play around.
Those inexpensive RaspberryPi's are great tool for learning coding

I'll buy you anything you like!!!!

But I need to calm down my excited mind now. When I try to use gufw it says "Gufw.py" is not responding :frowning:

Yeah, I hear that all the time but was never witty enough to get my head around them or hands on them. Are they like...little nas devices or what are they?

Back to /usr/share/bin and check what python items are there...

Aye aye cmder.

Well, if I access /usr/share/ there are several 'bin' folders in it, none contains python files. However, searching for 'python' in /usr/share returns an endless list of python related files:
