I did and at the end of the resulting text it said...
ERROR: The "apt-get update" command is not working on your system. The Brave installer cannot proceed. Please try again after fixing your system configuration.
I did do the git command and I copy and pasted that entire message and saved it for future reference. The wifi 6 connecter that I bought today is a AX1750 Wifi 6 TP Link.
sudo apt-get update
With a lot of help from my friends, 17.3 PRO is installed and now Brave is working. After I get up and comfortable with this OS, I plan to install the MX Linux on one of my older laptops. I think I will really like it.
Thanks for all you help!
I am very happy that Brave is now working and I am curious about the possibility of other browsers for use. Does Linux use other browsers? I have always been partial to Firefox and Tor.
You are very much welcome. How does Zorin run on your computer?
I reccommend Tor Browser, if you are already partial to it.
Firefox has gotten... Complicated... in many ways... lately.
You can download it, right click and "Extract here" and double click "Start-Tor Browser Desktop"
Not sure yet. Been too busy just trying to get it started. Time will tell. I already have questions popping up... like how do I make it use the whole screen of the tv that I use for a monitor? Got an ideas? The TV is usually on a high table in the corner of living room... so the bigger the picture ... the easier to use.
Sweet! Thanks for that!
But isn't surfing slow? Or have they improved that, too?
Oh, I don't know.
I mean... Diana listed that as a preference. And FireFox is likely to get hijacked into a Snap Package by Canonical without warning so...

Now you've got me curious. I'll have to check out Tor at some point. If it's still slow as heck, forget it.
I have not used it in years. I am not up to date with its machinery.
Quick update - it's still slow. It's a smidgen better, but still slow.
@Diana If you can cope with vertical tabs on the left then give zen a try, it is a fork of firefox. It is my daily browser.
Thanks for recommending Zen! How do I get it? 17.3 is different from 15.3 and I am still quite lost.. plus the 3 years away has erased a lot of what I had learned before. I am truly starting over!
Brave will not load this morning! I guess once was once too many for it.
I'm going to try and get Tor downloaded and see if it will work.
I feel like I'm fighting a dead horse!
Via Windows I have found a possible way to get Zen installed. Going to try that first.
I have installed "Zen" and it is fast! I see how I can use it!
If I can find an easy way to install LibreWolf, I will also install it!
I think you should always have more than one browser that you like to use!
If you like Firefox, LibreWolf is a Firefox fork that has better default privacy settings than Firefox straight out of the box.
