Um ok I am gonna do my research what WHQL is but I try doing the command and see if that fixes everything.
Ok I did what you told me I did this and then what happened after I pressed the restart button on the Zorin os side, it’s boots back into windows but here is the output

@Bobtech44, have you done this in your BIOS or not? Check the boot order list in your BIOS.
Have you copied the command and pasted it via right mouse click in terminal ?
(The command changes the boot order in your BIOS so that ubuntu is at first position).
? I posted the screenshot that’s what it said after I typed that command
For me the error sounds if it was in wrong format, maybe spaces missing...
Always share the full outputs of any command, this might help troubleshooting.
That is the full output anything at the bottom is just my user name and computer name
Hm, I'm not sure what the problem is. When you take the output from "sudo efibootmgr" in the row BootOrder, look there, how the spaces are set between 0000 and 0002 and do it the same when you change the order.
Or alternatively go into your BIOS and change it there.
Some BIOS have different settings to change the boot order only for the next boot or permanently.
I see here now, there should be no space after the comma.
So try
sudo efibootmgr -o 0002,0000
I mean even if all this is fixed I feel like I am still missing something cause there was a black screen and the automatic words appeared saying error i could not even take a look of what kind of error it was because it boot off so fast and went back into windows. Like I done all the boot repair it told me the “NVRAM was locked” i wanna be clear I am not trying to remove windows or what I should make boot first what i was trying to figure out is what the error stuff going on. Also probably should mention that Zorin os is probably corrupted at this point even by fixing the boot orders
You could make a video capture from your phone and then, review it playing and pause at the error.
Ya that’s a good point but that was two days ago (the 8th), i didn’t make a post till a day later (yesterday) and now at this point I am gonna try again this time switching to GPT. But I will say that yes it was probably bad idea to not touch anything cause of what I been told what modern computers have so I am just gonna uninstall and start from scratch cause I been wasting my time all day tbh
Does Zorin itself work on your system without any problems once it has started up? Is it just that you can't start it without entering the BIOS or are there other problems?
Since you have an Nvidia card, you may need to find the correct drivers and switch to XOrg at the login screen (click on your user name and then on the gear icon, then select "Zorin Desktop on Xorg").
I did select boot Zorin os with moderne Nvidia Cards when I first booted into the usb whatever that means.
Also with a fresh install you would have to solve the problem to set ubuntu permanently at first boot position.
Since this was a fresh installation, I will also say go for a reinstallation.
But this time, check few things
- Verify the ISO checksum
- Select gpt and UEFI in Rufus while creating the Zorin bootable USB.
Note that Fastboot in BIOS and Fast Startup in Windows are 2 different things. Make sure Fast Startup is disabled in Windows, it's very important.
Before that you may 1st completely remove Zorin from the system. Here is how: Is zorin os support legacy booting? - #11 by Ponce-De-Leon
It's best as a novice to choose the Install Alongside Windows option during the installation.
If you still need a manual partitioning then I highly recommend this video tutorial:
Ya I make sure to look into what I need before I install again. I do appreciate the help but gonna uninstall until I can figure it out before I reinstall
Also one more thing. I did try the “alongside side windows” but I was not able to get the boot option to my SSD. Due do it not being listed in the drop down menu. Instead if anything the only option to pick with that was my 2TB HDD so I went back and went to choose “something else “ since the 1TB SSD was in the drop menu on that part and I followed as instructed Manually Partition the Drive to Install Zorin OS - Zorin Help
That happens automatically. Because the Installer already detects that there is Windows, it places the Boot Stuff automatically on the right Place. So, You don't need to do that or have to choose it. You only have to choose how many Disk Space You want use.
