Help deciding the best Version for my HP Z600 and HP ELITE X2 1012 G2

Hiya,
I am thinking of switching from M$ over to Zorin and wondering which version is better for me, I do a real mix of everything from Databases/Data Analytics/Graphics-DTP/CAD etc, and I haven't used any Linux distro's since around 2004, so I have a lot of catching up to do!

I also want to know how well Zorin will run on my two systems, as they are both quite old although still run perfectly well on M$-10-Pro, and I don't see why I scrap them, just because some billionaires can't code a secure OS, and feel the need to make even more money!

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

For your Workstation you could use either Core or Lite as that PC looks well specified.

The size of HD (SSD) space for Tablet PC is not clear from your post. Websearch indicates it should have 256Gb 0r 1Tb SSD.

That then should be able to run either Core (gnome) or Lite (xfce) editions.

I am not sure if you may have issues with linux kernel support for the Intel Kaby Lake architecture on that Tablet. I noticed some questions re Ubuntu 22.04 (Z17 base) and Kaby Lake during websearch.

If you are new to linux and Zorin, this thread may be of interest: Before you install

The only problem I can see is the NVidia card to get the resticted driver to work properly. nvidia cards are hit or miss these days due to Nvidia made some poor drivers (I'm looking at you v550-v565). Nvidia used to be reliable in the older days.
That's the reason I switched to Radeon card. Best thing I ever made.
