[How to] check the validity of your downloaded Zorin iso

Where to find the md5/SHA checksums at https://sourceforge.net/projects/zorin-os/files/15/ - click on the "i" in the circle on the right:

  1. In Windows use md5free:

  1. from the terminal:
  1. If you have a different Linux distro installed, use K3b burner as it auto-generates the md5sum - see image above.

[With Apologies to Team Zorin for using a Fenen OS screenshot - my Zorin became unbootable - couldn't find initram - suspect my fault for selecting update initramfs during using Clonezilla the other night - we live and learn - the hard way! ]

Update as of 31 Aug 2021:
To view the current 256sh checksums, navigate to the Download Page:

Scroll down below "Compare Zorin OS Editions" to see a Button marked view 256sha checksums.
Click this button to reveal the 256sha checksums, then proceed to follow Swarfendor437's guide above.

Also can see screenshot of the ZorinOS Download page, where you can find link to SHA256 checksum list, here:

(I have edited my original post there, to reflect change in location of checksums on the ZorinOS website since launch of Z16)

Where i can find earlier version Zorin md5 checksum?

Go to here:

Click on the 'i' to the right of each file to reveal the checksums.

I cannot find checksum Zorin 16.0 lite checksum. When i going to Zorin webbrowser they are only checksum 15.3 and 16.2

Lite always comes later release wise as Team Zorin concentrates on Core. The first release for Lite was 16.1, not 16.0.

The md5 checksum contained in this .xml file:

https://ia601509.us.archive.org/26/items/zorin-os-16.1-lite-64-bit/zorin-os-16.1-lite-64-bit_files.xml

This is sha256sum and a name cd iso is
Zorin-OS-16-Lite-64-bit
The checksum isn't the same what you gived me.
The iso is from december 2021

You asked for the md5sum in original post. You could download the iso from internet archive. Zorin on sourceforge only has the Beta of Core. As stated before, Zorin Lite was released with 16.1, not 16.

Ok. Thank you for explaining.
