Hello
this is my first question in this forum.
I'm also a real beginner in the Linux world as whole.
So i wanted to create a backup using Timeshift in Zorin Core. I had it cancelled before it was fully finished. I noticed a strange thing, even though no snapshot(backup) has been finalized , some folders had been added to my files and also a significant amount of hard disk space was occupied after.
My question is how to delete this cache? (probably tens of gigabytes!)
I'm sorry the advice above didn't work for you. I had a quick search around for something easier to follow and found a "SOLVED" post on the Mint forum but I don't know the etiquette about adding links to other Linux forums like Mint, so I made a screenshot:
You will have to substitute your file (what the folders are called) names for the ones in the example, but as you said you can see them it should be straightforward - I hope!
If the information in the image isn't enough for you, search "Deleting Timeshift snapshots" and you should find the link to the Mint forum post. You don't need to be a member to view the post.
I don't see a etiquette issue with that.
If I websearch "....Ubuntu 22.04" to extend a Zorin issue search to the wider Ubuntu base, I will certainly attach a link to a thread from another Ubuntu based distro forum that offers a solution or a hint towards a solution.
