How to fix the boot menu if it disappears

If you have Zorin OS installed alongside another operating system on your computer, you should be able to select which operating system to boot from a menu that appears when the computer turns on. This is known as a “boot loader”, and in Zorin OS we use the GRUB boot loader.

However, if this menu disappears (for example, sometimes after a software update in Windows), you should be able to re-configure the boot loader so it will appear again by following these steps:

  1. Boot the Zorin OS installation USB on your computer again.
  2. After reaching the desktop, open the Zorin menu → System Tools → Boot Repair.
  3. Click the “Recommended repair” option to start the repair.
  4. Restart your computer.
