Found the CD Rom file doesn't work as it doesn't have enough space. Is there another way to convert the file and get it accepted by the terminal?

Not enough space...?
It's not installing to the USB is it?
You are not trying to convert the file, but to install it.
Normally this works by extracting the file, opening the terminal in the extracted directory as you did earlier and running

make

sudo make install

This must be done on your Installed Zorin OS, not the LiveUSB.

Are you able to connect to your router using a ethernet cable?

I am trying to, but the TP Link wireless (if it counts as a form of ethernet) isn't being recognised.

This would be so much easier if your notebook had ethernet or mobile hotspot tethering

From my websearch, Dell Precision T1600 is a mini tower, not a notebook Yes?
Spec states it has:
"Integrated Intel® 82579LM Gigabit LAN (supports Remote Wake Up, PXE and Intel Active Management Technology)"
There should be a Network cable port on the rear panel.
