Kernel update breaks the system!

I don't even know now, the update installed normally and has no errors.
I'll wait a couple of hours and see, although I turned off the top panel blur and set high performance for this blur extension, because at 180 hertz on the monitor, the gnome stumbled and fell off.
This was especially true yesterday, when I tried to open a link to Discord, the gnome fell off every time.
What's bad is that in the new kernel they slightly accelerated the launch of the processor bus, that is, the system is still starting up and the processor already wants to launch the graphics on the video card, which the system has not yet picked up.
Maybe yesterday the update installed crookedly, I'll work for a couple of days and see.
now updated everything looks good so far.
drivers and video card work as they should, no errors.

Hiya, nice work proving lots of details. If I may suggest, please use the code boxes for pasting the logs. It makes things much easier to read.

This is... a very interesting perspective.
I now can accept that Fairies and Dragons are proven real since all that is needed is a repeated claim.

Dragons ARE real!

Also, I've watched tonnes of documentaries about fairies. Ben and Holly's Kingdom provides ample evidence.

you met my mother in law ?

New Forum member here. Not new to linux, but I have a story to tell related to this: I've been on Zorin OS since last fall . I have a Beelink MiniPC that was running beautifully for hours on end without issue. I Use it for light work, with the occasional RAW photo editing done in either darktable or another editor. For the most part, I've not had any issues at all. Fast forward to the past few weeks, and I was doing some homelab stuff and installing software. My fans began to spin up. I figured I had been on the machine for hours now and so I looked up a heat mitigation solution for the minipc and somebody suggested turning it on it's side to help cooling. I did this and nothing changed with the fans. They would randomly come on at full speed. I then decided to try out some new photo editing software and my machine would suddenly drop the video connection and spin the fan at 100%. This happened in 3 different applications. I assumed it was my computer overheating and began to purchase thermal paste, a cooling fan for the underside of the system, even shopping for potential replacement machine (in THIS economy!). Changing drivers, configuring BIOS settings and fan and temp thresholds did nothing. Then I figured it out...the kernel updates. I ended up downgrading to the 6.1 kernel and all of my problems disappeared completely. Zorin was the problem. Well, the kernel was. I guess the latest updates have been messing with a lot of compatible driver stability within the latest kernels themselves. Had I not figured this out, I would have likely spent hundreds of dollars on a new machine, thinking mine had a heat management problem. Lesson learned.

Just out of curiousity. How can you resist not updating to Zorin 17 or Zorin 18?

I apologize immediately if the translator translated something crookedly or incomprehensibly.
My feedback for Zorin Os will be positive.

here is great support and moderation - always active and can help if you have any problems with the update.
then when starting the system you can always press Esc and select the old kernel, driver changes are also not a problem at any time.
I don't know, I'm a new Linux user and Zorin OS 18 was the first for me, many changes were added and some problems in games were solved, for today, when I figured everything out, I realized that all distributions on Ubuntu are almost 90% identical
I doubt that I will switch to Ubuntu 26.04 where there is only Wayland which is not friendly with Nvidia video cards.
I really liked X11/ X-org, everything works well and stably.
There are problems everywhere with all distributions, for now I like how my system works.
I really doubt that I will switch to something else with other errors that I will still look for and fix for a couple of months, for now Ubuntu has become closer to me than others, but in arch it will definitely be difficult for me.
I even had to get used to the site, I didn't immediately understand what was here and what was for, I solved some problems thanks to the site, then I look at different customizations and other things from people, I get used to it little by little - I notice that I've never encountered Linux, I probably don't know a lot yet and I'm learning little by little.
my main system has always been imposed on windows, I probably even regret that I only just started using linux and was able to solve many things that annoyed me on windows.
zorin os is great for switching from windows - new people will not only be comfortable at first until they at least understand the system a little. I sat for probably a month getting used to it, tried different games as it went, looked for some moments and solutions to make the system a little more suitable for my purposes, my getting used to it took about 20/21 days, it was 24/7 climbing into the terminal and getting used to it, understanding how everything works, adjusting it for myself.
I recommended it to friends, one of them left Zorin because his system broke down, we didn't use timeshift and recuzilla back then, I didn't even know they existed, although I had experience transferring the system from disk to disk as a full copy.
Then my friend bought a PC and started having problems, he has an Nvidia 3060 graphics card, but his 16GB of RAM made his system extremely unusable for gaming, even Forza 5 froze and crashed 5-10 minutes after launch, then he also switched to Zorin Os and is happy, there are problems, but we can deal with them.
I also recommend to other people not to enter commands into the terminal if they don't know what they are for, it's better to ask for help here.

I can resist because, Zorin OS 18 is a disaster, compared to OS 16. I also have fears that when things don't go well, and I have to re-install, thats a huge time sink, when I am already busy, and may not have the time to fix my computer after problems of that magnitude.

Experience has taught me, if it aint broke, don't fix it. I was really hoping that OS 18 would be better when it released, unfortunately, its not as good as 16, because it was so obviously rushed, for Win10 going EOL.

Now, if I worked at a bank, and this computer was for money changing hands, obviously, modern support/security would be absolutely important. But its not, its just a PC.

So, thats how I resist poop on my windshield. 1-micro fiber cloth, and 1 bottle of Windex lol. :sponge:
