I discovered this today and tested it in a live session of Zorin 18.1. The installation script ran a bit strangely and reported errors. But I was able to take a look at the new features; however, the Miller columns are still in the beta phase.
I'm not sure if that extension is really suitable with gnome 46. I personally wouldn't install it on my bare-metal install at the moment.
I took a look at the code and it's pretty smart and well codded, did you note what errors you had with installer ?
Hm, I had not saved the output, but I repeated the installation now, and this time there were no errors shown. Last time I had forgotten to disable my custom Zorin theme before with my edited .css files to change nautilus.
This was the terminal output now:
Perhaps I pressed a wrong key before, because when I wanted to call my history commands to choose the command for the installation again, there were hundreds of commands with just a single word of the installation script as if the installation script was splitted into parts. The installation was shown as successful at the first trial, too.
I'm very excited about the Miller Columns!!! I've been using Ranger, but it just isn't the same as what you get with Finder; and Pantheon just doesn't work right if you're not using elementary. I'm really hoping the development of this continues!
The critical line: Gtk-CRITICAL: gtk_box_append: assertion 'gtk_widget_get_parent (child) == NULL' failed. That is a classic case of widget-tree injection gone wrong. The code is trying to add a widget (gtk_box_append) to a Gtk.Box, but that widget already has a parent elsewhere in the tree—and GTK4 flatly refuses to allow a widget to have two parents. This implies the code expected Nautilus's internal structure to be in a specific state (an "orphan" widget ready for insertion).
I will not try with Zorin 18 for now till the extension would be stable on Gnome 46.
The extension looks promising, but I think it still needs to be tweaked to better support Ubuntu 24.04/GNOME 46.
This installed for me without error on Zorin OS 18.1 Pro. I think the install errors you saw may have been from trying to install on a "live" version of Zorin.

The problem with Gnome 46 is not the install read what I said, it c'ant work correctly with nautilus 46, it seem to work but it can crash at any moment
I was referring to the initial errors reported by Forpli.
It may not be perfect, but it works way better than trying to use Pantheon! Pantheon is extremely buggy on Zorin.
I'm very happy! I'll add an update here if I run into any issues.
'Slightly' off-topic, made me wonder if anything similar for KDE Plasma and found this nugget:
In the itsfoss Article is mentioned that it is for Nautilus in larter Versins because the ''Other Places'' Entry was removed. So, I would think it is intended to addresses more these later Versions.
There is also this Info on the Projects Github Page:
GNOME Files versions below 50 may have limited functionality. Full support targets GNOME Files 50+.
I had seen this and posted a screenshot of that message in the first post.
Well, this offers the Answer. It has the Focus on Nautilus 50.
Yes, I realized that. But for those interested in Miller columns (as e.g. @littlekun), it might be worth keeping an eye on the development of this extension or simply try it and test how it runs. It is really new. Perhaps the support for older gnome versions will be improved. I had once a freeze when I made a setting in the extension, but perhaps it runs better on bare-metal.
I also get the impression that this extension works better than Pantheon, which I tried out a while back, and also better than the Directory menu plugin in XFCE, where you can't simply open files by double-clicking them.
I noticed a bug today, and I'd like to know if you're experiencing it as well:
When I click on "Computer" in the Nautilus sidebar, I can't scroll. As soon as I scroll, the Nautilus window closes. I always have to set the Nautilus to be maximized to see all of that window.
Your answer is here
Gtk-CRITICAL: gtk_box_append: assertion 'gtk_widget_get_parent (child) == NULL' failed
What does the error mean?
Gnome Nautilus is very sensitive and the API is not documented, bypassing some process is not a good thing to do. So it's unstable and it will stay unstable
That is a part of the terminal output while running nautilus, opening "computer" and scrolling:

Aborted.
It seems to me that the problems are primarily caused by calling "computer" or making changes in the "my computer" settings. As far as I can see, using just the Miller Columns presents no difficulties. At least no further error messages are displayed in the terminal. But I may be wrong, I'm not familiar with API and GTK code. Would it not be possible to remove the "computer" widget and just use the Miller columns function?
