I am new to ZORIN OS, just installed and when updating the software, i am receiving message box saying "The Package is Broken", below is the message:
Check if you are using third party repositories. If so disable them, since they are a common source of problems.
Furthermore run the following command in a Terminal: apt-get install -f
Transaction failed: The package system is broken
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libgail-common: Depends: libgail18 (= 2.24.33-2ubuntu2.1) but 2.24.33-2ubuntu2 is installed
Depends: libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.37.3) but 2.72.4-0ubuntu2.3 is installed
libgtk2.0-bin: Depends: libgtk2.0-0 (= 2.24.33-2ubuntu2.1) but 2.24.33-2ubuntu2 is installed
how can i solve this problem?

Hi and welcome. Before we go any further:
-
Is this a desktop or notebook?
-
Make and model, CPU installed, amount of memory (RAM) installed, Graphics card/chipset if notebook.
-
Are you booting Zorin OS alongside Windows or is it the only OS?
-
Did you verify the hashkey of the download against the published hashkey on Zorin website?
-
Did you use a download accelerator when downloading the .iso? Using a download accelerator can result in a corrupt .iso.
-
If yo used a USB memory stick to install Zorin, which software did you use to create it? If you used a DVD, what software did you use to burn it?

Thank you for your support. I was able to resolve this by:
Open Software & Updates from the applications menu.
Go to the Other Software tab.
Uncheck any third-party repositories, and then click close.
Reload the package list when prompted.
Thanks again, really appreciate it.
I will move this thread from "Feedback" to "General Help" and mark Jay's post #3 as "Solution".
