I recently updated my PC to have a new PSU and GPU so that I could have better performance, but it's performing worse than before.
I tried using Lumo (Protons AI model) to try and diagnose my issues, and while it was able to help with small fixes (black screen on reboot not disappearing, BIOS updates for Motherboard) the performance is god awful and games that are very light aren't loading. Based on several hours of trial and error, my system is not reading the GPU, and is instead rendering using the CPU hence the horrific performance.
Please help. I have no idea what else I can try and do and am losing my mind.

llvmpipe means amdgpu never finished init. your dmesg already says why:
failed to load ucode SMC
card is on pci, firmware/psp dies before it takes over.
try this:
both pcie power plugs fully seated on the 7600 (not just one cable)
uname -r
boot a newer kernel from grub if you have one. navi33 (7600) wants recent firmware.
paste:
if you dual boot windows, check the card once there. if windows also dies its power/slot. if windows is fine its linux firmware/kernel.
drop those cik/psp grub experiments for now. theyre for old gcn cards and just muddy the logs.

Because You had a Nvidia Card before: Did You uninstall the Nvidia Driver?
Also: did You checked in Your BIOS the Graphics Output Setup? Does Your System run in Wayland or X11? You can check that with the Command echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE via Terminal.
Another Option could be to try a newer Kernel for better Hardware Support or maybe a newer Mesa Driver.

I appreciate you for responding, could you clarify what you mean with step 2? Is this something I'm going to type in the terminal?
Also, the kernel I have is the newest one as far as I can tell so no issue there.
I do not dual boot anything; Zorin is my only OS on my system
I did uninstall everything for NVIDIA, I have not checked if my system runs in wayland or x11 so I will try that once i'm home

Only to know that: In which Way did You uninstall the Nvidia Stuff? I only ask for the Case that maybe something is left.

Interesting....I have 2 Asus boards the B450 and a B550-F and both if i swap out the nvidia or rx 6600 XT they have no troubles seeing and using them at startup..Is this because they are Asus? Hard to say been awhile since i used any other brands MB

Okay, then let's check if it is detected when switching to Wayland. Go to the Login Screen. Click there on Your Profile so that the Passtword Field appears. When it is appeared, You should see in the bottom right Corner a Gear Icon. Click on it.
Now it depends a bit if You had installed Zorin with Nvidia Drivers or without. When You had it install with
Zorin Desktop
Zorin Desktop on Wayland
In this Case choose Zorin Desktop on Wayland.
Should You had installed Zorin without
Zorin Desktop
Zorin Desktop on Xorg
Chhoose here Zorin Desktop.

no gear at the password screen usually means the wayland session file got yanked w/ the nvidia purge
-ls /usr/share/wayland-sessions
paste that. if wayland-sessions is empty we can put the session file back

If you use an auto login without password, then you don't see the cogwheel.

As @Forpli wrote: It doesn't appear when You should have Autologin active. Another Thing to be sure: I meant the Login Screen and not the Lock Screen. The Login Screen, You have when You boot Your System. I mention that because some People in the Past have confused these two.
It should look like on the Picture here:
Did you install Zorin OS 17, or did you use the upgrade from 16? If the later, that might explain why is not the default as that wouldn't change the current session settings. Do you still see the option to use Wayland at the login screen?
