No sound output/input devices found by OS 17.3 on Lenovo Thinkpad T14

Hi, just joined today because I am really at a loss for what to do. I've given up on Windows and clean installed Zorin 17 core but now have no sound in or out. All the volume controls I can find are at maximum and the only Output Device choice is Dummy output. Can anyone help? is there an Idiot's Guide to Zorin?
