I am getting very frustrated with to many things going wrong with my installed hardware ..... so I disabled ALL downloads except security ones for the time being .... here are some of the problems I have faced or been facing ..... all of these items have been working on Zorin for the past year and suddenly up and turned screwy or don't work at all .....
Mouse .... problem solved by making changes to the NVIDIA driver .... but something had to change the setting for the NVIDIA driver cause I sure didn't
Bluetooth will not connect to my Logitech K380 keyboard .... message that "connection failed .... host is down" .... reinstalled Blueman 4-5 times ..... been going off and on for the last week .... finally today could not connect at all ..... went on line and found some suggestions ..... Bluetooth is working OK right now ...
My new WiFi and Bluetooth dongle no longer shows a light to show it is working so I can only assume it isn't ..... but I still have WiFi .... unplugged the dongle and still have WiFi ..... so I need to work on it later ....
Both Nemo and XnView MP have missing and reappearing to top right hand menu icons (minimize .... maximize and close) missing but if I right mouse click on the space I get a drop down menu allowing me to accomplish these tasks ..... this happened a little more than a week ago .....
It seems every time I download a Zorin non-security update something else screws up so I have .... like I said .... ceased to download anything but security updates .....
OK just an update .... been working all day on these opportunities ..... mouse is working great .... new Corsair mouse that is ..... more on that later ....
My new WiFi and Bluetooth dongle is now operational again .... followed Aravisian instructions from before on how to install this USB dongle and reinstalled it ..... it is now functional again BUT now I have apparently 2 WiFi's running .... Wireless Realtek 802.11ac NIC .... and Wireless AC 9560 (Jefferson Peak) I guess one is my Laptops card and the other my dongle .... anyway they are working .....
Interesting that it failed because we used DKMS to install the program in the terminal ..... but then we have had a lot of upgrades since then so I guess either yesterdays or this mornings took it's toll but then I really didn't notice just when the light was off ....
You can add Libre Writer to the list of apps that have the wondering minimize .... maximize and close top right icons ....
Which Desktop Environment are you seeing this titlebutton problem on?
That is an unusual issue and it tells me that the Window Manager package is broken.
If you are using Cinnamon D.E., then we should check your sources in case Cin got a 5 update that the 4 desktop shouldn't have gotten.
in Update i clicked all package can be installed i wondering it also not good. In section other software i don't know if it good. Besides i saw weird problem some software not killed and with stacer cache take many GB today 2.2GB what is that mean something not closed and working background.
Yes I'm using Cinnamon DE I just deleted and reinstalled the DE a week or so ago but it was doing it before I reinstalled it .... I think ..... that was one of the reasons I did ..... because I was playing around with all the Applets and totally messed the DE up ....
Oh and by the way the removing all the updates from trying to update except security updates didn't work as I had a bunch of updates today ..... Libre .... Vivaldi and some others like library this and library that ..... and of course you can't just uncheck them as they will show up again tomorrow .....
You mean something besides moebius ???? let me check I love that theme because it is light gray where most others are to dark but let me pick another one ..... be back
I tried different themes but I discovered that if I spit the screen to either left or right the icons stay BUT if I switch from half to full screen the icons disappear .... so I went back to the moebius and discovered that that works too .... if you switch to say left split and then to full screen the icons appear for just a second then disappear .....
