Yes only on Cinnamon .... Gnome and Xfce work just fine ...... I just checked again .... I'm still on Nouveau drivers for now but that doesn't seem to matter .....
Let's assume that this is a Muffin issue for now, and perhaps again be chasing an untamed ornithoid without cause.
.... I agree .... what ever you think .... you is the professor and I is the student ......
May I suggest we tackle this behemoth tomorrow as it is suppertime for me and I need a good nights rest .....
Under one photo it wrote you can changed resolution with rand tool
Here is something interesting ..... this is a photo I posted on the board Aug 20th and you can clearly see the icons in the upper right hand corner of the LibreOffice document ..... so I can assume that at that point Cinnamon was working correctly ......
Question ..... is the Xfce in Zorin Lite the same as regular Xfce ?????
In having examined the Zorin OS Lite desktop and the Zorin on XFCE desktop, I have never found a single difference between the two.
Yes, just has a theme applied and menu customizations, but is a standard xfce install.
Thanks Aravisian and seanhinkley .... I was just curious as I could I suppose go to using Xfce as it seems to work fine just that I'm not used to it and it seems awkward to me to use .... BUT ..... I guess I should get used to it as maybe Zorin 17 will use it instead of Gnome .... anyway I'll give it a try again and see .... I have it kinda customized so it isn't to bad ..... just that we tend to use what we are familiar with ..... kinda like giving up M$ ....
I have grown very familiar with Mate, Cinnamon, XFCE and LXDE-gtk3, to the point I can move between them pretty easily.
I find Cinnamon much easier to customize than Xfce ..... having some real problems with the way my desktop looks ..... I'm using the same icons and theme I used in Cinnamon but there are far less features to use in Xfce ..... at least to me ....
Here's my desktop ..... notice the black background on the desktop icons ....
Can't find where my screenshots posted to .... and the screenshots isn't set up right to begin with .... wallpaper keeps going back to an older one ....
I'm going back to Cinnamon at least it only has one small problem but I CAN live with that ..... going back now .....
OK back in my comfortable environment on Cinnamon ..... when I was younger I thrived on challenges and trying new things but with time and a fading memory it becomes a challenge that I don't relish anymore ..... and like a pair of brand new shoes .... I much prefer my old comfortable and broke in ones ....
I will not complain about my missing icons any more and use my work around to close minimize and maximize my windows .... no biggie .....
Thanks for everyone's help and please don't waste your time on this issue ..... as long as it doesn't get worse I can live with it ....
I use both Gnome and xfce, i use Pro on my desktop, and Pro Lite on my laptop. Like them both Cinnamon is pretty nice, i used it with Mint for years.
