I agree because just about anytime I have updates to install there is always one from NVIDIA .... :grinning:

Let's try:

xrandr --output eDP-1-1 --mode 1920x1080

mike@rog-strix-g731gt:~$ xrandr --output eDP-1-1 --mode 1920x1080
mike@rog-strix-g731gt:~$

Do I have to restart to see any results ????? .... cause nothing changed

It should have changed... maybe I do not fully understand the identifier... I have never seen -1-1 on a monitor I.D. before.
Maybe it should be just eDP1

mike@rog-strix-g731gt:~$ xrandr --output eDP1-1 --mode 1920x1080

Also found this in the NVIDIA settings so you are correct you can't change resolutions with in NVIDIA .....

What about Display Setting?
Launch Settings (gnome-control-center), then Displays
Scroll down and you should see the
Orientation
Resolution
Refresh rate
...options...

Here is what it shows ..... I tried different resolutions but nothing worked .....

The shown resolution is 1920x1080... Is that due to you changing it or was it already set to that res?

That is where it is when I opened it .... I tried the next 4 settings under it and no changes in icons except in screen size ....

I have two GPU's will that make a difference ..... just grasping at straws here .....

This is where I saw the Odd Resolution.

But... below that we get:

so... I am confused...

I think it is likely that the first screenshot is showing Worn Info.
What utility did you use to get that?

Sorry we had a brown-out just got back on .... the photo you posted was one I took when I first got the machine and was made by Speccy .... could have been on Win 10 as I don't think it is available here on Zorin .... sorry for the confusion but it was the only photo I could think of at the time .... not sure just how to get my laptop spec's with Zorin .... or I forgot .... old folks do that you know ....

OK I will take my punishment like a man ..... :sob:

Ooooops I just found it ..... neofetch ......

Ok, it seems I led you off on a wild goose chase here...

No ..... I just didn't give you the right information ..... it's all on me ..... :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: ..... I even tried reverting back to Nouveau drivers hoping that I would get more info in System Settings ..... but nothing it shows the same info as it did with NVIDIA .....

The missing titlebuttons issue is only on Cinnamon Desktop, not Gnome or XFCE, correct?

Let me check ...... be right back ....
