Problem Installing Kodi 21 Omega FIXED

Hello! I'm new to Zorin_OS 17 having just installed the Education version yesterday. I have Mint Cinnamon running on another, older machine, and I was able to install Kodi 21 Omega without any trouble at all. In Zorin I first tried "sudo apt get-kodi", which installed Nexus, which is too old for my requirements. So then I went to the official Kodi TV website and downloaded the Flatpak for Omega 21 ( Kodi v21 (Omega)) but what I got was Nexus - again! I tried doing "sudo nala update" and "sudo nala upgrade" and quite a few packages were updated, however, not Kodi! I ran a "purge Kodi" command and tried again from the official download in the website - same result.
One last go with "flatpak install flathub tv. kodi. kodi" and that produced: 0.530+matrix.1 !!!
Neither Nexus or Matrix is compatible with a specific app I want to use. If I didn't already have Omega up and running perfectly in Mint Cinnamon, I'd think it was just the way it is...
Can anyone help with a specific Terminal command so I can get the correct, up to date stable version, please?
(Please note that this question in no way refers to piracy, only the media platform / entertainment center stable version). Thanks!

See if this guide helps:

Zorin 17 is a fork of Ubuntu 22.04

Thank you, swarfendor437, I'll take a look and report back.

Unfortunately, this also installed a much older version and not the latest 21 Omega. I really do not understand this because installing it on Mint Cinnamon took seconds! As Mint is also based on Ubuntu, I just don't get why I keep getting old, unsupported versions on Zorin_OS

I thought Mint had dropped ubuntu in favour of Debian?

Looks like only available via flatpak:

Thanks for trying to help.
No, Mint 21.3, Virginia, Cinnamon is based on Ubuntu 22.04 (and Ubuntu is based on Debian). Quote: "However, there is also a version called Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE) that is directly based on Debian". Confusing!
I've tried the Flatpak already and it was Nexus... I need Omega. It's crazy that the download into Mint is Omega, as it's labeled on the Kodi Linux Download, but Matrix gets installed on Zorin! I'm surprised someone doesn't know a Terminal command for a direct download.

Hi, I am not sure what Zorin 17 r2 is based on. By this I mean the LTS version of Ubuntu 22.04 will currently be at 22.04.4 (I think). The result in getting Nexus might be that there are other dependencies that are not present or as up-to-date as what is present on Ubunut/LM. I also believe that another element to the issue is that Kodi (xbmc) has retired it's repositories, which is what you would use for terminal install. They have moved, sadly, onto flatpak - it would have been better if they could have taken the time and energy to produce a .deb file as flathub and snapd create more problems than solutions.

[UPDATE: Having looked at pkgs.org regarding Kodi, it would appear that Kodi 20 is only available on Ubuntu 24.04, which means you will have to wait for Zorin 18 which will be based on 24.04 which will be quite a ways coming I suspect before it gets released. https://pkgs.org/download/kodi].

I really appreciate the time you have taken to look into this - thank you. So, Mint it is for the Kodi HEC and Zorin for the daily drive experiment!
