Refresh Rate

i see this in forum:

"I wanted to go back to Zorin OS today but i forgot why i left it:
I have to screens, one 165Hz and the other is on 60Hz.
When i only use the 165Hz screen, everything is fine.
But when i use both screen, everything is stuck at 60Hz."

It's the same problem as mine, but I really wanted to solve it without switching to Wayland, because X11 is absurdly superior for me in terms of FPS, while on Wayland I get half the FPS and it's not that optimized. This is one of the only reasons I left Zorin.

If there's anything I can do, let me know :slight_smile:

You can use Xrandr or arandr (that is a gui for xrandr) to set the resolution and refresh rate on multiple monitors. It only works in Xorg (X11).

I have two monitors, one with 60 Hz and the other with 165 Hz. If I use only the 165 Hz monitor, it works fine, but if I connect the other monitor, the system converts all monitors to 60 Hz.

I tried for three days to use xrandr methods, configured the correct refresh rates, but did not solve my problem, i realy tried so much, that's why I came to ask for help on the forum

My GPU is an Nvidia

What's about the Nvidia X Server settings? Does it work there when you set different refresh rates for the monitors?

Even with it configured in xrandr, NVIDIA X Settings, and in the display settings themselves, it still doesn't work.

It's as if the cursor is at 165Hz, but windows and everything else are at 60Hz

my gpu is rtx 3060

(if my English isn't good, it's because I'm from another country)

You could take a look here:

"First add those 2 lines to /etc/environment:

CLUTTER_DEFAULT_FPS=144   #Put your refresh rate

__GL_SYNC_DISPLAY_DEVICE=DP-0 #Mine was DP-0

Then launch Nvidia X Server settings by typing "nvidia-settings" and then disable "Allow Flipping" in the OpenGL menu.

To apply after every reboot, you just need to launch the "nvidia-settings" menu to apply the settings."
