Schmilblick or "show and tell" time

You just witnessed how the words got misused in another language  I will not go on, but I can easily tell you about a half dozen Japanese word misused in French language.

That I did not know. I should have a close look at the label next time I am in the local supermarket.

I just edited your post to correct a spelling mistake in my post quoted in your post. Spell checker?

Also edited my post re home smoking.

I noticed that the editing of the original post would not be reflected to the quoted post. It must be a limitation of Discorse. I also noticed that the spell checker would not work for the quoted part.

That is a method I've never tried. :fire: :fire_engine:

I just took some pictures since I am planning to make another batch today.

Chinese Wok protected with aluminium foil (since smoke is quite acidic and eats metal).
Under the cake rack is a disposable Escargot dish (there is such thing in France!) to catch dripping from the fish since it will make unpleasant taste if it falls on the smoking chips.

This is the only ingredient apart from fish.
Smoking chips made in Germany.
It seems smoking is more popular there than in France.

That is a whole new meaning to "Fish & Chips"

Butter is the correct answer!

StarTreker, tell her what she's won!

You have won a years supply of POPCORN, no really, it expires in 1-year, so you better get to poppin.

Stay tuned for next week, when we will be testing different ways of making chocolate syrup, Hershey approved of course, cause they are our paid sponsor. So long folks!

No. I was asking where the cafetiere had gone. Now looks like a robot maid with a tickling stick.

I like that much better, if FrenchPress wants to use that avatar, I vote for the fixed one from Aravisian. Cause I too didn't know what I was looking at, until I enlarged her profile card to see.

If it possible to remove the background of the original?
The one I uploaded was rather low in resolution.
(I tried to do it myself but did not managed).

Oh my gosh, I love it! I am jumping for joy for you FrenchPress. WOOHOO!

Oh wait, I forgot, I am being too American, gotta calm down lol.

For those who are not aware, there is kind of an unsaid rule in Japan, don't be overly loud and rude like. Trains in Japan have a extremely strict rule in this regard. And there was a time this one guy got kicked off the train for being overly obnoxious, there's cellphone footage recorded of it on Youtube lol.

In other words, Japanese like it when people are calm and at peace with themselves, quietness is recommended hehe. Next scene, Godzilla comes storming his feet through the streets. Japanese say.....Well, there goes the neighborhood. :stuck_out_tongue:

"Trigun" disagrees.

It is true, there is a certain amount of peer pressure in Japan.

This sounds like a bit of exaggeration in a typical YouTuber manner. Perhaps what will happen is that other passengers quickly move to another train car to avoid dealing with ID10T types.

My French husband criticises me that I speak too loud in public. I suppose I lived too long in North America before coming to France

This is a great video on this kind of thing, its not the same exact one I was referencing though, but its another one.

Don't worry, I don't blame you FrenchPress. Every country has good and bad. Its a good and informative video nonetheless.
