@storm you always have amazing desktops and the best icons my friend
Just installed Zorin OS 18 on two old laptops that have seen better days. It was a little tricky with one of them because of the BIOS, and had to fiddle with the partition manually. That was the only annoyance, but I got there and after that everything works fine!
Zorin 18 Customization,
Mainly using Gnome Extensions and customizing Keyboard shortcuts to my liking as I don't like using mouse much
Extensions List:
- Brightness control using ddcutil
- Burn My Windows
- Clipboard Indicator
- ddterm
- GNOME Fuzzy App Search
- Lockscreen Extension
- Notification Banner Reloaded
- Notification Filter
- Open Bar(OP Extension for Theming)
- Quick Settings Tweaks
- Search Light
- Top Bar Organizer / Lilypad
- Vitals(System Monitor on top bar)
- V-Shell
- Wallpaper Slideshow
Some Apps:
- uLauncher(Pretty cool search app, supports a lot of extensions)
- Hidamari(Video Wallpapers)
- DDC Control
- GDM Settings
Terminal:
- ZSH
- Oh My ZSH
- Oh My ZSH Plugins
- Oh My Posh
Keyboard Shortcuts:
- Just set em up from keyboard settings
- dconf Editor(if you're feeling adventurous, handle with care)
Tiling:
- Now comes with Zorin 18, set up according to your liking
- Personally I like Tiling WM more, but closest is some Gnome extensions like Forge or PaperWM. I'm anaging with custom keybinds for now :3
Experiment with evolve core, a theme app in development that allows for global 3rd party theme application. It has a ways to go , but I hope the project stays alive.
I got mine themed without paying to evolve. The free evolve hasn't been updated in months
Using 1.7 free. The line on top of the monitor was a graphics driver issue. It appeared when selecting the gtk 3.0 option. Fixed after installing a driver. The app can't access usr/share/icons only the .icons folder I created in ~/hidden.
Good evening Community! This is my new look for the Z18 Desktop. Customized with icons and cursor from Elementary OS KDE.
I don't suppose you'd have a location for that image or where you got it? I really do like it.
@Storm i love it, real nice icons. ![]()
I like the look, but I stopped playing with Peppermint when it pretty much became google-centric with all its apps, just like Lindoz.
The app runs from the folder. Use at your own risk and reboot if you can't undo any changes. The developer is charging to even read info about the new paid versions. That's no-go for me, but I will use the version I have.

I tried it out and the Evolve-Core's Own Window could not even match my system theme but supplied it's own. To me, that was just way too basic - I deleted the files.
