I found Storm’s awesome icons on Pling and decided to create a new look inspired by them. The monochrome style looks way better on the wall TV screen than the previous colorful one. Credits also to the overall inspiring ‘Storm style’.

A Dream in grey and black. I like it. What Theme do You use?

Thank you. It's a stock theme and dark mode with a brown accent. A slightly reddish gray softens the overall look nicely. Regular gray appears too bluish and harsh.

It would almost be worth altering those trees along the waterline, to the left of those structures, to spell a name. Half above the waterline, half reflection. I had to look at it for a good amount of time to be sure it wasn't already doing something along that line.

I'm playing with themes for the cinnamon desktop in my Zorin VM. I like playful hand-painted looking icon themes, here I use gtk theme "Gates" in bronze and icon theme "Clay".

And with "Gates" in snow ice and cinnamenu applet

I prefer monochrome themes, but on my tiny screen I have trouble distinguishing between the icons, so I prefer to use colorful icon themes with outlines that are as different as possible so that I can distinguish them better/faster.
Another reason is that most full icon themes do not include icons for all applications, especially since I use multiple desktops, and the apps from all three desktops are displayed in the start menu and app overview. With a monochrome theme, these applications for which there is no matching icon are much more noticeable than with colorful themes.

When you like what you did with Gnome, but like XFCE better. (Yes, it's still Zorin 18, just with XFCE installed because I couldn't wait for Zorin 18 Lite lol)

I crossed over from Windows and Mac 2wks ago. I used Gnome desktop for a few days and then kept seeing stuff about xfce so thought I would try it and see what I thought.

I like minimal and simple. I am using the Whisker Menu and I really like it. My usage needs are very basic, as are my computer skills. I have an OMV server for my music files and now connecting with that will be easier.

So far so good.

Q40S 7 ("Perseus") Plasma Testing r1 based on Debian 14 'Forky', Plasma 6.5.3, Kernel 6.17.8+deb14. This is a VM inside of Plasma version of Zorin 18:

Defaults to Wayland but can be changed at login to X11.

For now it can. I've read that Plasma will kick out X11 with Version 6.8. I was surprised as I read it. I thought they would wait until the next Main Version.
