Just a quick comment here. Plasma does not seem to work with installing new themes which come from the Pling.com arm of KDEDesktop! So now it requires to use their 'ocs' installer which is a real pain!

Have a look at how much ram VLC is using after 5 days running a cam I have outside to keep an eye on my dog when he wants out. It will go up every day.
That so violates my personal rules, for how much RAM, a media player is allowed to use. Production software or games, can use 8GB of RAM or more. Media players shouldn't use more then 2GB of RAM. If VLC allows it, I'd put a cap on that RAM's behind.
No option. I always restart it when it hits 10. But it doesn't actually turn off when you close it. Before you can open it again you have to go to processes and kill vlc.bin.
It used to be one of the best if not the best.
VLC used to be the best till 2016, when the developers who made it, ruined it. Not playing video's, missing codecs, you name it. I use SM Player instead.
