Tile windows on one screen

Might be a dumb question but is it possible to split tiles on 4 quarters on one screen?
I only saw the possibility to split it to 50/50 right and left.

Not automatically, no. The "Advanced tiling layout" only works for side by side windows. If you need to have 1/4 assigned to each window you'd have to do that manually.

Alternatively, you can install the Pop!_OS shell which provides this sort of functionality, although for all windows and workspaces:

There are extensions that you could install that could probably get functionality like you're looking for, such as this example here:
Tiling Shell - GNOME Shell Extensions
There are lots of extensions that can offer similar things, so you could also take a look at more and see if there's anything that might pique your interest.

Dumb question from a beginner, but how do you do this? It's something I'd like to use

You can drag a window to the side of the screen and it would resize automatically, taking half of the screen. You can then do the same with another window on the opposite side. Using the keyboard is possible to use Super + one of the arrow keys.

However, it won't offer any other pattern like taking a quarter of the screen, for that you'd have to do it the manual way, resizing each window to the desired size and position.

You can install an extension that does that for you, however. I personally like the shell used by Pop!_OS which works pretty decently with Zorin OS as well.

I had it set up like that, then lost it. Found it again in Multitasking

If you're wondering how to install and manage extensions, all you need to go is go to Software and install Extensions and Extension Manager:

The reason there's 2 Extension Managers is because one is an apt package and the other is a flatpak. I prefer apt, but they both seem to work.
Then you can open Extension Manager and browse for new extensions to install on your system:

The Extensions application is used to disable and enable which extensions you want, and to edit the settings in each of them.

Yeah, because it would move to the next workspace, and can be quite annoying. That's why I prefer to keyboard shortcut to arrange windows side by side (I very rarely need to have more than two windows up at the same time).
