You can take a look at this thread if this solution helps you. Only change ownership of the folder you want to share if it is a pure personal data folder (because I am not sure what happens otherwise - it is risky changing ownership of important system files)
I am a complete Linux Newbie. I recently installed Zorin OS 17 Pro on some spare hardware I had. The installation went OK and the system appears to be running well. I want to share folders on the Ziron PC so that I can access them from my Widows 10 Laptop. Both from the Home directory and from additional Hard drives installed on the Zorin PC.
The machines are on the same network. Using my Windows PC I can see the Zorin Share but I cannot get access to it. I am sure it is a permissions thing …

So here is an update / revision to some of the steps to improve the How-To.
1. Enable a folder you want to share.
You do not need to make this folder shareable as the steps in installing samba does this.
3. Now Install Samba
