Unable to install Zorin onto my Desktop PC

Hey,hey buddy, I went through that in “Phoronix Forum”.
Mine is an AMD Fx-6300 CPU.
Why should I provide i915.alpha_support=1, statement? That is for Intel CPU’s.

Ah, right.
AMD radeon.

Can you post the results of lspci and the contents of /var/log/Xorg.0.log?

Wow- there is a lot there... modesetting failed, no module for ati, dpi, etc. No defaults, no screens specified, udev needs to be configured...
It will take some time to sift through that.

Did you try setting sudo nano /etc/default/grub with

GRUB_GFXMODE=1920x1080

?

I think that at kernel 4.15.0-115, you should upgrade the kernel to at least 5.4, maybe 5.5 (kernel 5.5 may indeed resolve it by itself).
You might just try in terminal

sudo apt full-upgrade

first and if that does not upgrade drivers and kernel, then do it manually.

I have reinstalled again Zorin freshly onto the PC Desktop with the ugly 1024x768 resolution settings.
Now let me do all the things properly.

Performed everything from
GRUB_GFXMODE=1920x1080 inside
/etc/default/grub

To $ sudo apt-get upgrade

Rebooted.

Blank Black Screen ,NO LOGO OF ZORIN, no text,nothing onscreen!!!

Will the amdgpu-pro-20.30-1109583-ubuntu-18.04.tar.xz work or install in zorin linux?

Tried but in vain…

Oh? What kernel version are you running?

tabatiti@comparado:~$ uname -r
5.4.0-47-generic
tabatiti@comparado:~$

ok, it was 4.15.0-117 earlier.
Well, we tried “Additional Drivers” from Software and Updates, already.
Even though this is for 16.04, try the steps in this guide:
