Personally, I recommend installing some additional fonts/codecs. You can do this by typing sudo apt install ubuntu-restricted-extras (this increases compatibility by installing some of the commonly used closed-source fonts and video/audio codecs etc). Other than that, just update your system and then install the programs you'll need for your everyday use. If you need specific advice (i.e. such as how to set up ZorinOS for gaming) just ask away.
