I have looked at them both, they have all the options I am looking for. Meaning lower- uppercase special characters etc., so I can use em all through the system, especially with file management.
But my experience is that most of the fonts don't differ that much. I like to try the fonts that are different from the usual.
Right now I am using Nasalization (all through my system, even the lockscreen, login screen and grubmenu). Lately I have been experimenting with Chromia, Minalis_Regular and Usangel.
Font choice is largely a matter of personal preference, but some popular options among Linux users are Inter, Noto Sans, Cantarell, Roboto, and Source Sans Pro. They tend to be clean, highly readable, and work well across both desktop environments and application interfaces.
If you've already customized the GNOME Shell CSS so the change applies to the Zorin menu as well, you might want to try Inter or Noto Sans—they strike a nice balance between modern appearance and readability. Koryaka Free Rounded has a unique style, but for everyday use many people prefer something a bit more neutral and easier to read at smaller sizes.
Part of distributing globally while also trying to keep your .iso small includes uncertainty about all languages.
Can you please open a terminal and install more complete fonts with:
Now, at this point, I turned to an internet search to see if I can find more help on this (I am not Chinese, myself...)
There are some older fallback fonts that some find useful. So, I will post this as an option you can look at and decide if you need them:
While checking wqy-zenhei and wqy-microhei, check fonts-source-han-sans-cn and fonts-source-han-serif-cn - which if you want those, can be installed with sudo apt install as well.
Once you have installed all you want, update the Font Cache:
fc-cache -fv
IF this resolves your issue, good. If not, it may be that some software is still giving priority to latin based fonts - we can fix that. If you find that happening, please open a New Thread and post that you installed the above fonts, which ones you installed and that Latin Fonts are getting priority on some applications and we can walk you through the process of creating a file for font.config (Font Configuration) to help you correct that.
