This is not the first time you have had this happen.

Ok, at least now we are getting somewhere:

It showed the version number issue.
Can you run:

sudo apt update && sudo apt install -f

sudo apt upgrade

The first command ..... I only copied the warnings .....

What seems to be happening is that your regular upgrades are way behind.
When you move to install or reinstall something, now at a later date, those dependencies on some packages may have changed (elevated) in the time since they were first installed.
This really is one of the reasons to regularly run updates.

Let's try:

sudo apt full-upgrade

sudo apt install -f gnome-software

So should I just turn on the software updater and let it just install all the back items ????? .... I disabled all updates except security ones ....

My laptop is downloading something because the download speed is waaaaay down the up load speed is normal .... ???? .... did something we did trigger a download ????

The sudo apt full-upgrade should have powered through that :expressionless:
Try

sudo apt dist-upgrade

I bet you have a timeshift at the ready...

That explains it - and why you have had this trouble before.

Are you ready for this ..... Zorin Gnome is installed (but I haven't checked it yet) ....... Nautilus is reinstalled ..... I don't know if anything else is missing or not .....

Gnome was reinstalled after the updates restart and I installed Nautilus by way of the terminal ..... and updates is set to except all updates .....

I know your worn out trying to fix the mess I made .... the only reason I refused the updates is because it seemed every time I had an update I had a problem with something but I am now keeping a photo of all the items being updated so I can go back and see what happened ....

Thank you for all your help .... I may not understand it all but I really do appreciate all that you do ....
