I have a HP 250 G8 Notebook and everything was working pretty fine and i really like what Zorin looks but it has no cable ethernet onboard!
After I installed & configured Zorin like I need it some days later my WiFi connection diappeared; no conection and no optipn for WiFi in the systemtray menu.
Also no Wifi in Settings/Network.
I cannot use "systemctrl restart NetworḱManager" as it has no effect.
The same happened before and I had to reinstall Zorin with all software I need.
I want to avoid to have to reinstall Zorin and install all my Software again just because the WiFi doesnt work.
I searched several forum threads here and on other forums, but none made me succeed to get that solved.
Can anybody please help me on reactivating my WiFi connection?
My notebook doesnt have a RJ45 plug.
My Mobile is an old Xperia F3311 and the Sony HowTo doenst make the USB tethering work nor Bluetooth Tethering is finding my mobile.
Can I transfer by USB?
What do I need to get installed?
BTW
Everything has been workin great and then the WiFi vanished after I started my NB on the next day
sudo dpkg -i rtl8821ce-dkms_5.5.2.1-0ubuntu3_all.deb

I don't think I did anything wrong, did I?
This is my Zorin Version (16.3):
cat /proc/version
Linux version 5.15.0-78-generic (buildd@lcy02-amd64-027) (gcc (Ubuntu 9.4.0-1ubuntu1~20.04.1) 9.4.0, GNU ld (GNU Binutils for Ubuntu) 2.34) #85~20.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jul 17 09:42:39 UTC 2023
When nobody here can help me with reactivating my WiFi I would appreciate if I would get a solution to avoid the "WiFi vanish" Issue when I install Zorin next time!
Otherwise I will have to use another distro and install the needed Gnome Extensions myself to make it look like Windows!
Zorin is giving me a quiet good usability as former MS user but it seems that Zorin is still a bit buggy.
On my HP desktop I have no problem, but here I have Cable Ethernet.
Not easily, as I suspect you will need to also download extra dependencies.
Have you tried booting into an earlier kernel?
At boot, enter the grub menu, then choose Advanced Options for Zorin and select booting up Zorin On 5.15.0-76 or earlier.
If it works, we can lock your kernel to the working version.
I tried to make the grub menu visible by editing /etc/default/grub and changing GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=hidden to: GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=menu but the grub menu does not show.
How can I use another Kernel / make the Grub menu showing?
You can also try to make it appear by tapping the esc or tab key at boot when you see the motherboard splash screen if using EFI boot.
For Legacy (MBR) boot, hold the Left Shift Key down during boot.
Yes I made the sudo update-grub but it keeps black showing the Zorin Z splash & goin on with boot.
At boot, enter the grub menu, then choose Advanced Options for Zorin and select booting up Zorin On 5.15.0-76 or earlier.
If it works, we can lock your kernel to the working version.
OK, I booted with Kernel 5.15.0-76 instead of 5.15.0-78 but the issue stays
