Do you think the Zorin team reads this? Or only via the feedback function?

I hope that they read this here. But I have wrote my Feedback here and send it to them, too.

My webcam its a 4K cam type: Insta 360 link 2 c is not compatible in Zorin OS 18 as it is in 17.3.
Tried to call my sister via messenger today, but no microphone sound! It seems like there is a picture but the mic is not working. I have no problem with this wbcamera in Zorin OS pro 17.3.

Why is Brave "forced" compared to Firefox or other browsers ? I am using Vivaldi in general

It's more time consuming to go through a thread like this where communication happens "all at once" for all types of issues. It makes more sense for them to have an organized system where they can go through them one at the time. Plus, not all Zorin OS users are active on this forum, and implementing a form independent from it would make sense.

Nothing is being forced on anyone. People are free to install/uninstall whatever software they want. As for why Brave and not Firefox:

@Omnimaxus I forgot about this one. Apparently going forward people will have to set up this repository separately on their own:

It's a good evening here, and I wish everyone in the Community a happy birthday!

I was testing this 18 Beta version on a very old machine and liked it so much that I considered using Zorin18 on my main machine. I could be wrong, but I noticed a significant improvement in performance and features, like the web app, for example. I have a question! When the stable version is released, in short, will I have to format it from scratch again?

Beta will transition to stable along with the system upgrades:

Good afternoon
Last Friday, I installed the beta version of Zorin OS 18
and so far everything is running smoothly. I'm working with two monitors: one internal laptop monitor and one external monitor. I can even select which one I want to be primary. The sound is normal (I just haven't tested headphones), and Wi-Fi is working without any issues. One thing I found really cool was the ability to configure the taskbar at the top of the screen as a dock. However, I noticed that when I open a window, it doesn't stay below the dock, but rather below it, leaving part of the background at the top, which isn't a good idea. However, I managed to work around this by configuring the panel for smart viewing. I really liked the ability to connect to the OneDrive and Google Drive clouds.

One thing I think could be improved if there isn't a specific configuration, as I haven't been able to find out if there is one yet, is that you have to click on groups to see the apps in that group, as this could happen when you hover the mouse over the group. Another point to consider is that some things haven't been translated into Brazilian Portuguese yet. I also couldn't change the dashboard color, but that's of lesser importance at the moment since we're still in beta.

In short: I really like Zorin 18 and hope these improvements are implemented. I'll continue testing it in normal use this week.

I don't know if anyone else has been able to test this, or if it's a weird issue on my end, but when I leave my monitors at 60 hz, they regularly slow down about half when using them randomly (can have something open, nothing open, doesn't matter).

If I set my monitors to run at a higher refresh rate (such as 120) this behaviour doesn't seem to present itself on the monitor that the higher refresh rate is running at. This behaviour dissappears entirely using X rather than Wayland, but I don't recall running into this issue before, as I'm running an AMD gpu (7900xtx) and even the prior OS, under Wayland, didn't have this issue.

By dashboard, do you mean the activities overview? In any case, please submit this feedback also through the Feedback form. This will make it easier for the developers to keep track issues and feature requests in a more organized way.

Please take a look at this thread, in case you're interested in helping translating some of those missing bits.

Hey all, as I said before for some reason my laptop running beta 18 was very sluggish and after I rebooted it would not boot up at all but hung at the boot screen. Well I reinstalled yesterday and so far I have not had any issue. The only real difference is I had installed vlc from the software application but not this time. I dunno if is a correlation. Hopefully it will not occur again but idk I also filed a feedback report.

I installed XFCE 4.20 on it and... I dunno... I am not having any of the problems others describe.

:stuck_out_tongue: snark...

Hello
What I call the mainel is the taskbar where some information and favorite applications are stored (see image). But I will send comments as recommended. And I will also contribute some translations.

Yes, but without it, it creates a problem already discussed at length.

Nice, the video recording button is back.

Try it with adding the Source again like described by Brave on their own Website and then make a sudo apt update and say what for an Output You get.

@XDeltaOne told me that this is the site to help translating Zorin:

And @AZorin added:
As Zorin OS is based on Ubuntu and upstream projects within this umbrella, we can also suggest contributing translations through Ubuntu for other apps and software. That way, your work can benefit both Zorin OS and other projects using the same software: Translations/QuickStartGuide - Ubuntu Wiki
