How did you come up with that keyboard shortcut? The default is Super+Space.
You can set the "System Sounds" slider volume down to zero or mute it, just above the "Output" sound settings. Alternatively, you can install "Dconf Editor" and disable the setting as per the screenshot below:
As @Hercules said, but you don't need to install the GNOME Extensions for that, the option will be available through a right-click on the taskbar -> Taskbar Settings -> Position -> Activities Button.
As that warning says, some actions need to be unlocked that's why you're not prompted for password right away. Whereas in the Sharing section, everything there needs to be unlocked in order to work. It would be pointless to not ask for that authorization upfront even when it's absolutely required anyway.
When you click on the visible button for Activities button, the activities button disappears from the Dash (the new name for Panel/Favo(u)rites). What would be good is if the button changed to read hidden as it still reads 'visible'.
On alt-shift:
Alt-Shift is the switch combination I use for Windows and it is set up in Zorin via gnome-tweaks. I tried to boot Zorin 16 and language indicator on taskbar is changed correctly.
On system sounds:
Installed Dconf Editor and found this setting. Thank you!
On task switcher on taskbar:
Also, found it and hide it. Cheers!
On Sharing authentication alert:
I have "Sharing" functionality turned off by default and if I want to see my computer name, I thing there is no need to authenticate to view it. Moreover, I click "Cancel" on this dialog and view this name anyway.
Open the file manager and go to Templates. You will notice there are some empty files there with names that match exactly those shown in the "New document" sub-menu. Feel free to rename them however you'd prefer. You can even add some content in there that will be automatically copied for every new document, in case you find yourself repeating the same type of layout constantly.
This seems a ZorinOS 17 specific issue. Please use the Send Feedback launcher to report this directly to the devs.
Fortunately, the Zorin OS has kept its original state and this is one of the main factors in using this OS. After using the beta version for a few days, I encountered several problems, such as drag and drop on the archive manager app, it doesn't work, also there is no folder color anymore, I don't know if Zorin team want to ditch it or not, and when I install it from PPA, it doesn't work properly, I guess it didn't update for Ubuntu 22.04
I didn't see any major problem... I guess I need to downgrade to 16.3 and wait for the stable version.
At that time Ethernet, but I had the same problem with WiFi anyway, I'm using QEMU. I have had other systems installed that way and the network has worked correctly for them.
Yes, I'm not sure how it works but apparently QEMU uses virt-manager, I don't really use virtual machines much, just to install a distro, try it for a day or two and realize that I like Zorin better, I have a little more experience with virtual box from when I used windows but I never really liked it
I launch virt-manager, it uses qemu but I don't launch Qemu directly. When I've used it in other distro, Devuan, all the packages including qemu get installed. Had to install qemu after virt-manager in Beta. No issues. The beauty of virt-manager is you can configure hardware under details. I've been using the Beta on a bare metal install and used virt-manager to run the Beta on the Beta and used the VM to produce the manual for the Beta in Tutorials & Guides.
Someone else would complain that why it isn't something else entirely... it's just a matter of preference, and very simple to change. Bear in mind that Linux is not Windows, and Windows is not Linux.
