Zorin OS Core + Dell USB-C Dockingstation

Hi folks,

I want to replace MS windows by a linux distribution. My current choice is Zorin.

I was really impressed, as the live session from the installer were able to handle even my docking station with its connected monitors and wireles mouse and keyboard. Even wifi and webcam worked!

So I installed it and run a little bit into issues.

The docking station will no longer work while on the installed OS.

I found this tool to describe my notebook and the isntalled Zorin version:

After connecting the Dell WD19 docking station

• hear connecting sound
• internal screen wents blank (but mouse still visible but not moving)
• external monitors stay black

After disconnecting again.

• disconnecting sound
• internal monitor comes back to live

I found out, that installer live session uses
6.5.0-35-generic #35~22.04.1-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Tue May 7 09:00:52 UTC 2 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
while installed version uses
6.5.0-41-generic #41~22.04.2-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Mon Jun 3 11:32:55 UTC 2 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I already installed displaylink driver, still no different behavior.

You may need to use an earlier kernel than the current kernel used by Zorin. This method allows you to set the kernel that you will boot into by default. To set the new kernel to default: Boot into the kernel you wish to be Saved.
