It don't work Forpli. That message is probably outdated. I updated Ventoy, it won't load. It gives me two fail messages, one it won't load from root, the other won't load from Ventoy.
Yeah. Just verified that Aeryn OS no longer advises using Ventoy for its live ISO. That's as of the latest version 1.1.12
Please excuse the misinformation. There have indeed been issues with the newer .iso files from Aeryn OS since March, causing Ventoy to stop working and the site I linked has not been updated.
I have now settled with Cosmic DE. The upcoming updates fixes Cosmic displaying custom icons correctly and other fixes.
how does cosmic compare to KDE plasma in your eyes in terms of benefits and preferences?
by the way, glad the earthquake was mild.
Cosmic DE is like having the aesthetic of Gnome and configurable of KDE.
The earthquake was 4.2 Richter.
@Storm, were you able to set up your printer(s) on Aeryn? If so, what package manager did you pull from? Moss has nothing right now.
@wsmather I don't have a printer anymore. It's been 10 years or so since my last printer. I usually go to the public library to print - but we're talking once a year.
But it's still in heavy development and some things haven't been implemented yet. I saw your question on Zulip. You can request the package you need on their github page to speed things up.
I don't think anyone has as beautiful a desktop as @Storm
I read that although they aren't at Epoch 2 yet, the features that you require are now present under the hood from recent updates to Epoch 1. It must be a sweet addition to Aeryn because of their mutual rustiness. I'm using KDE Plasma on Aeryn OS right now for my 2013 Dell 2330 AIO. And it is rather nimble (if not quite snappy). I'm betting that a switchout to Cosmic DE will achieve snappy even on that box.
If so, it's nice to know that it will roll right on into the soon to be Epoch 2 version with no effort on my part. Cool.
Cosmic DE is still rough around the edges, but every week new fixes, improvements and features are added. ![]()
I'm looking forward to Cosmic DE v. 1.0.13 which fixes the icon theme situation. I saw they packed it and it's ready, just waiting for the roll out.
Still OS also don't breaking. Frank OS distribution was writing with one person alone. This year what I taking observation is many interesting distributions. Void is interesting, now i am using alpine with musl. Of course also saw new desktop enviroment like a hyperland, niri and mango-dms. I liked diffrent linux distributiond to they purpouse and knees.
Here is Still OS
Young developer creating distribution over 3 years.
I'm starting with babystep to build packages. My icon themes, so people can easely get them.
like:
sudo moss install arcanum-icon-theme
Here is tutorial
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mbCH7sBLeI it is advance distribution building like a puzzle and compiling everything inside.
Immutable system the developer if update something then all .iso must be replaced. This is diffrents with updates. Void propably is near the same but nixOS is configuration from a file.
