Desktop Icons Text - remove drop shadow effect

Hi! I would like to change the font under the desktop icons on my Zorin 18 Core install. I found a previous post which involved editing the stylesheet.css file to remove the text completely (which worked for me) by removing the font weight and replacing with font size of 0, but ideally I want to get rid of the drop shadow effect while leaving the text otherwise unchanged. Is there a way to do this from within the stylesheet.css as I find the drop shadow effect very distracting.....
Thanks for any advice.....

In a thread on reddit was mentioned that it helped to disable the gnome extension "Zorin Desktop Icons" and to use the gnome extension "GTK4 Desktop Icons NG (DING) instead.
You could try that.
Install gnome extension manager first, and then browse for the extension to install it. Select shell version 43 for Zorin 17 and shell version 46 for Zorin 18.

You could also try this one - but this extension was not mentioned:

Thanks - that's just what I wanted! Worked a treat after I tweaked the icon size and used dark text in the icon labels!
Now if only I could work out how to get a plain light sand colour for my desktop background - I think I read somewhere that I could use my own picture but it would have to be in a particular format.....

Glad to hear! Yes, you need to create a picture in the color you want to use as desktop background.

You can take a look at this thread:

Thanks again! Yes, I just found that and have temporarily set the background to plain white. Now to find out the value for a light sand colour......
