Ethernet and wifi issues - new install

Where was that number coming from?
Please give me the source.

I just caution you that Statistical genetics is a part on my daily job. It is not that easy to convince me with numbers and figures in absence of a solid evidence.

The kernel lacks the driver.

-sigh-

I wonder if the 5.8 kernel would be better... I am reasonably sure it has the driver. I know 5.4 does...

What is the scale of your sampling?
Considering the number of products circulating around the planet, it is next to impossible for an individual to make such assumption from the limited number of samples one can get their hands on.

You have to be very careful for underestimating a limit of one's observation capability. If you extend such idea on people, this will quickly going to the "stereo typing".

Just let me know what to do lol

The big problem is that... It should work, but it doesn't. Your hardware is compatible.

Another proof that the "latest and newest" is not necessary a good kernel to use.

@Aravisian is trying to help OP to roll back the kernel to get the missing driver back.
Stay tuned :tv:

I actually doubt it will work because the kernal should have the driver. Still worth a shot tho

Yes, it "should" but in reality it doesn't.
(This is called a reality of life).

Sometime kernel does drop a support for the older hardware intentionally or accidentally.

The 5.11 kernel is not LTS. It is the Hirsute Hippo testing kernel.

Back to the machine or OS that has internet... Copy these links and then use them there:

Save each file on your USB and transfer them to Zorin OS.
Save them as they are in your Downloads Folder.
Open a terminal and Change Directory (CD) to that folder

cd ~/Downloads

Now run the install command to install all the packages at once:

sudo dpkg -i *.deb

Once done... reboot and test...

Looks fine to me

You are still on the 5.11 kernel.

Can you hold or Tap the left shift key at boot to pull up Advanced Options for Zorin and from there, select the 5.8 kernel.
Please see here:
