I Made a Custom Version of ZorinBlue-Dark Theme

Thanks to @Aravisian suggestions and tips in this topic I managed to create a custom version of ZorinBlue-Dark theme with the following features:

  • Icons are borrowed from ZorinBlue-Dark
  • GTK 3.0 CSS styling is borrowed from ZorinGrey-Dark theme but I made colors a bit brighter than the original theme.
  • The GNOME shell theme is borrowed from ZorinGrey-Dark theme but I made colors a bit brighter than the original theme.
  • The beautiful blue gradient color used in ZorinBlue-Light is used.

That looks very well balanced in the colors, without the tinting others have mentioned experiencing.
Putting it on github also backs up the theme.

Why not give it a name? As you modify and customize it further, you can name it something new and make it your own.

Please remember that Zorin Marked products belong to the Zorin Name.

Download and extract the latest version zip archive:

https://github.com/m3y54m/Balance-Blue-Dark/archive/refs/heads/master.zip

Then just make a .themes folder in your Home directory and copy Balance-Blue-Dark folder into it.

The final tree should look like this:

~/.themes/
└── Balance-Blue-Dark
    ├── gnome-shell
    ├── gtk-2.0
    ├── gtk-3.0
    ├── index.theme
    └── xfwm4

The Zorin's original light theme is great but the dark version of it is too dark a bit depressing ! I just made it a bit brighter.
I tried to gather all the good features of different Zorin official themes in a single theme and make a balance between them. So I named my theme "Balance-Blue-Dark".

Just like we need more cowbell, I think we could always use more Zorin Themes. Just makes the best slightly even better. Good Job! Who knows, maybe someday they can get put permanently into Zorin...

Much better than any of the dark themes in Zorin OS. I hope they fix this tinting in the next release of Zorin OS. In the meantime, thanks for making this theme! :innocent:
