Hello sir
I have lost my pendrive so now I have no device to convert it into a bootable device.
When you reach the tty screen, does your user account and password work?
No sir
How to fix that sir ?
I understand your situation, but at this point, we have exhausted all options. Something in the build broke and we can barely access it in order to try to diagnose it, much less repair it.
If it is not GDM3, The Desktop Packages or the kernel... Then it's ephemeral trying to find what it could be.
If you cannot login on the TTY, you cannot try startx
to try to get to the Window Manager.
I can only suggest picking up a small inexpensive pendrive. We can try to save your personal files - and while at it, examine your Software List and see if we can replicate it.
Okay sir. I don't have much problem with other softwares but I am having a problem with unity. I have installed unity which has a downloading size of about 5gb and I have one day data pack of only 2 GB and my online class takes about 500 mb so I get only 1.5 GB of data and install unity will take me 3 days or may be more which will be a big westage of internet and time. So if there is any way to backup unity.
Unity desktop?
Or Unity engine?
Unity engine
Sir, is it possible to back up unity.
Actually unity download size is about 2 GB but because I am installing it with a lot of packages it takes about 5 GB.(that packages are important for me.)
It should be possible if you can Boot from the LiveUSB.
I understand your position. Whether MacOS, Windows or Linux, we often learn - Always Make back Ups in case anything goes wrong.
I have lost many personal files and software to this lesson before I got it through my head.
Okay sir, I can understand.
I have used Zorin os for about 2 years from now so I want to try any other distribution.
Should I do that ? Or Zorin is the best distribution
Sir I have forget the process of backup in Linux. Can you help me again on that.
Very very thank you sir. I know that my problem is not solved but No teacher has never helped me so much on any problem. I have not enough word to thank you. Zorin team is really very great.
I am Adarsh Meher from Bargarh, Odisha, India
Can you tell something about you?
This is a decision only you can find for yourself.
It would be best, I think, to take it step by step once you have a pendrive. The Filesystem may automouont and be easy. But it may not automount and we would need to Mount it.
If it automounts, just access the files as you normally would in the file manager and move them to another pendrive.
Uhmm
I am Aravisian from the Zorin Forum.
Again Thank you very much sir
Bye for now sir...
I asked him to try yes
We ended up trying it (again?) to no avail.
Sir, how many pendrive do I need for booting and backup?
Can I do all that with one pendrive?
Do you have more then one usb port available?
Because you will need 2 (perhaps 3) but one for the Zorin iso and the other to backup your data from the previous installed OS, which you want to keep. Make sure when you do the backup of the files that the pendrive is large enough to hold the data you want to keep.
