Was about to remove a particular shell extension, but I removed altogether

I was abt to remove a particular extension, but instead I deleted the whole folder I think by this comand
sudo rm -r /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/
sudo rm -r ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/
now lot of things arent there, like

  1. I cant switch to different layouts.
2.desktop options in zorin appearance gone.
    3.scroll got glitched
    4.idk but its lagging
    please help.

sudo apt install --reinstall zorin-os-desktop

I did it, but it did not work out I think, also there is a small red alert icon in the shell option in gnome-tweaks/appearance.

sudo apt install gnome

sudo apt install chrome-gnome-shell

Yes, that command removed all extensions.
Here are the .deb packages for the missing extensions. You can download all of them and if these downloads are the only .deb packages in your ~/Downloads folder, you can install all at once with

cd ~/Downloads

sudo dpkg -i *.deb

The packages are:

Thank you so much @Aravisian . Some packages could not be installed like media player, zorin trays, bottom panel..rest all extensions are back but the scroliing in the applications got reversed, though the scrolling elsewhere is fine.

In Settings > Mouse and Touchpad, can you check the option for "Invert Scrolling?"

It may be that I was not providing the most current .deb.
You can re-try the ones that did not work in the terminal, since you already have the Zorin OS repository.

sudo apt install --reinstall gnome-shell-extension-mediaplayer gnome-shell-extension-zorin-panel gnome-shell-extension-zorin-tray gnome-shell-extension-zorin-window-list-bottom-panel

and so on...

yeah, because elsewhere scrolling is natural, only in applications it seems odd.

Ummm I am not sure on this one. I do not use Gnome Desktop...

okay, thanks.

You might try rebooting after setting the "invert scrolling" option appropriately - or logging out and back in.
I've never heard of it affecting applications disproportionately.

I did, it did not work out, maybe some bug,

Well, the entire extensions directories were removed from Home and Root.
It's hard to say...

Recovery don't help or using Zorin life to repair?

see this beside shell, in gnome-tweaks.

sadly I didnt have any recovery

And you did run

sudo apt install --reinstall zorin-os-desktop

correct?

no I did not, I did apt install gnome , though few minutes ago, its still running
next I will do that then

yeah I did, that did not go away

Working but resolution monitor is standard but it is unstable.
Back to original Zorin version.
