When it is ready! :innocent:
18.beta was released on 19/09 Between 17.beta and 17.0 there where sixteen days ...
As support for WIN10 ends on 14/10 many people believe 18.0 will be released around that date, if not too many major bugs where reported by the early adaptors.

True, but it does prevent e-waste. As I've stated elsewhere I have m'lady's computer from 2006 running Q4OS Plasma. And they also have Trinity in 64-bit and 32-bit.

I have now decided to use btrfs because I have created my setup, which works under Zorin OS 18 Beta. However, only under VM with boxes. But I'm already thrilled; it's going quite well. I've been very busy with what you have to pay attention to and what you don't have to pay attention to. I find this very exciting because I used Zorin OS 17.3 Pro to do it normally via the installer. I also wrote my own guide for me to create everything perfectly with encryption.

Hi I did get this to work but I wonder if you can add this in the 18 repository please if possible. I got it working from here TP-Link Archer T2U Nano Driver Installation on Zorin OS • tutorialforlinux.com Thanks

I've only used BTRFS when it was the default for the distribution, with Fedora and Tumbleweed, and despite the many concerns about it, it performed quite well. Snapshots were also pretty fast and didn't get in the way of things so that was a big plus.

It's just the setting this up for another distro that I find too cumbersome  And I only ever needed to use snapshots because of those distributions use a rolling release model, which meant every now and then updates broke something in the system. For Debian- or Ubuntu-based distributions, this isn't an issue for me.

I have to say myself that I still feel undecided because ext4 is damn stable and whether it's really worth it, I'm divisive. I'm really stupid right now. I thought that I could just experiment and maybe rely on btrfs in the future. I think this file system is really mega.

There's nothing wrong with using BTRFS. It's been around for a long time and it has some interesting features. Use it at ease for a while, and then you can decide if you would consider it again in the future. It's all about whatever works for you at the end of the day.

Prolly just haven't got to it yet.

It wasn't so good when i try to use.

In fact, I don't know if it's due to the beta version, but the screen goes black for a second or two every 3 or 4 minutes (on a small Lenovo tower with an Iiyama screen).
The problem is the same with Wayland and Xorg.
And whether the graphics driver for Intel is free or not.

Any ideas?

A little more Feedback:

I updated my Beta today and there was an Update for the Wallpapers. So, now there are more Wallpapers.

I really like the Mono Color One's with the Option for light and dark Mode! Really nice Idea.

From the Picture Wallpapers, I see a Problem for one. There is one with the Name Flower-Blossom which shows a Branch with Blossoms. My Problem with that is that around the Branch with the Blossoms is a Blur Effect - around it, not the Background. I find that visually not very ... favorable.

Feature Request:

Zorin OS 16 & 17 current Display Zoom Functionality, does not have 150% display zoom, forcing one to use 200%, which is a little too much.

Request Zorin OS 18, to have 150% available. A lot of people are asking for this!

150% is only with Fractional Scaling available. So, You can activate it and then use it. Unfortunately it doesn't work so good.

I remarked this today:
The right click on laptop touchpad is not working on an older device.
Neither at files or folders nor at webpages.
Asus Switch 5

Zorin 18 has been announced for 10/14/25. Any chance @AZorin or @zorink can chime in and let us know what beta feedback they've adopted for the stable ISO? I don't see that as being too much to ask, since we've all helped them here with the feedback provided in making Zorin OS a better product for all concerned. Thanks.

Will Zorin Lite 18 be released at the same time next week?

From my past experience what I have observed, the chances are NO.

The work for Lite starts after the stable release of the Core version. Last time, after the stable release of 17 core, it took around 4 months for the 17 Lite to release. So my guesses are 18 Lite will be in 2026.
