Solved. I had to specify that disks should be mounted automatically when the operating system starts.
Start steam, it detects mounted disks and installed games.
Of course, that is a minimum requirement at the very least. Linux is a more locked down OS then Windows, because at the end of the day, the philosophy with Linux is, your data is your own, your privacy, your security, should be paramount. Windows doesn't believe you have a right to privacy or security, so they mine your data, and sell it to the highest bidder.
By extension of this, it means that Linux can be a learning curve, and take longer to setup to your needs. But at the end of the day, you are much more secure on Linux, and thats what matters at the end of the day. When I wrote my how to article, Windows 11 wasn't even a thing yet.
Since Windows 11 came out, it made everything that was bad about Windows 10, even far worse. Especially after the most recent update that Windows 11 got, where it forced more decisions against your will. Windows is not the way, Linux is. Welcome!
The firewall is off on most distro’s. People should not forget to enable this.
