Share your desktop, what does it look like?

Dude, thats a nice computer too! Its using a 11th gen I7 CPU with 4 cores and 8 threads. You have a whopping 64GB of RAM, which is enough to run multiple VM's, or do a massive ton of photo production lol.

You know, I remember back when I was on my old computer, I was able to max out the 16GB of RAM, just having several RAW photo's loaded in GIMP at once. I actually got an error message from GIMP saying no I can't do that Dave. Its like, dang it Hal! HAHA!

This is what influenced me to accept that I should get 32GB of RAM for my next computer, which is of course what I did, and I have never run into a running out of RAM issue again lol. Anyways, I also like the fact your computer has a GTX 1650 in it, which is a really solid mid-range card, awesome!

Have you kept up how difficult it is for gamers to get video cards for their desktop builds? Ya, its been an ongoing problem for 2 years now, going on 3 if this business keeps up lol. We notebook owners are the winner winner chicken dinners here hehe.

I also like the fact that your computer has a thunderbolt 4 port, you know why thats excellent? Cause, if you decide you want to get into heavier gaming that your notebook GPU can provide, no problem! You can buy a external GPU enclosure, stick the next standard desktop GPU into it, I'm guessing it will be from the 4000 series perhaps, and walla, your gaming hardcore lol.

I actually like your machine, so it gets StarTreker's approval for best value mid-grade gaming machine. And remember, not just gaming, but that thing can do 1440P video production, as well as photo. Excellent!

I actually didn't know what I could use the thunderbolt 4 port for, but even without playing many games myself this is always good to know, thanks for that tip. I want to try Civ VI and see how it does.

I picked this laptop with "only" 16GB RAM which is plenty for me. I'm not a designer and only occasionally open up GIMP or Inkscape to edit a little something. I mostly do text editing and browsing, and I do use virtual machines sometimes as well, which I could still handle with my previous 8GB RAM. I even throttled the CPU's max frequency to about half when I'm unplugged so that the battery lasts longer

Just to keep this on topic I'll post another live wallpaper that I think looks great:

You may like my photo I entitled 'Glade Runner'

I used to go to a lot of work custom theming everything, but its quicker and easier to just install Star Labs theme and be done with it. It installs by one quick PPA, and I just choose it with Tweaks. And it alone brings an improvement to vanilla Zorin OS.

Inspired by @Am.Shekari wallpapers, I made some simple icons to fit a minimalism desktop.

I already did... and err, I might just go for another little tiny request. It's actually for the Brave browser logo. I saw the other day another icon theme (which unfortunately I lost track of) where only the face of the lion was visible, and taking the full width/height of the logo.

brave

So like in this example here, the black part which is the face would become the whole icon, discarding the hair around it.

Just a thought as I can see how this might go a bit against the overall style for the rest of the icons.

Thanks, cheers!

That wallpaper is excellent :+1: I think that's what Gateway wanted to achieve, but became a bloated Holstein cow instead, who's weight alone, crushed the company.

Most people don't even know who they are anymore, cause they became irrelevant like, 20-years ago. :joy:

Anyways, it's nice to see you making icons with wallpapers. You do good work as always. Hey, do they call it Brave browser cause you got to be free to use it?

If you can find the icon theme or picture of it, it would be great.
